Rotor Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) have been widely used in daily life due to their portability, flexibility, and low cost. However, the limited endurance of rotor UAV becomes the bottleneck in various applications. Optimization of UAV energy consumption by path planning is the primary energy consumption optimization. The energy consumption of rotor UAVs depends not only on the flight distance but also on the speed and the number of turns they take. In this paper, we formulate the rotor UAV path planning as a traveling salesman problem to optimize rotor UAV energy consumption. We propose an improved sine and cosine algorithm based on opposition-based learning (SCAO) to solve the optimization problem.
