A security implementation framework for IoT ecosystem
Manav Bhalla, Suneel Kumar Prasad · AIP conference proceedings · 2022
Internet of Things (IoT) is growing and is being adopted widely. IoT ecosystem is pre-mature in terms of security and privacy as these are not prioritized characteristics. Today IoT is being used in almost all sectors like domestic, industrial, pharma, etc., but the mature state of security is not achieved. Security is not built up from design but rather driven as features. This paper proposes a generalized security framework based on a systematic review of various published approaches to securing the IoT ecosystem and a user/practitioner survey to understand the current security concerns of IoT among security in design, network, encryption, authentication, and authorization, etc. IoT is a relatively new concept, and it is an implementation of network technologies and an integration of existing network infrastructure. The approach is to generalize the model to help the practitioner to develop & deploy IoT with good security practices. This will help IoT practitioners, researchers, organizations to formulate the aspects of development and implementations of IoT.
