Measurement and Analysis of Electrical Field around Secondary Equipment of Electronic Transformer in Equivalent GIS Due to Switch Operation

The radiated E-field around secondary equipment of electronic current transformer and electronic voltage transformer are measured using the developed 3-D E-field measurement system under switch on operation of an equivalent 330 kV GIS system. Based on the electrically small antenna and fiber-optic transmission technology, the designed measurement system has a wide response frequency band from 10 kHz to 400 MHz. The time-domain and frequency-domain of measured signals are analyzed respectively. Under the switch on operation with charge voltage 200 kV and load 200 pF load, the maximum E-field can reach 18.67 kV/m and the frequency domain component are mainly over megahertz.
