NextGenGW: a software-based architecture targeting IoT interoperability

To access all the potential value present in IoT, devices need to be interoperable. IoT devices are heterogeneous in nature and modelling them, both syntactically and semantically, is a problem difficult to tackle. In this work, we propose the Next Generation Gateway, a software architecture designed with scalability in mind that addresses IoT interoperability from both the syntactic and semantic perspectives, and harmonizes the various IoT end nodes communication protocols in a single one.
