Summary The component’s roadmaps expose a drastic increase of the peak power and TDP for the current and next generations of components.. This research and talk are focused on the power capping challenge. The main goal of this presentation is to demonstrate that highly optimized and tuned codes from the HPC community have a new opportunity to better balance performance and energy consumption. The first benefit is naturally a reduction at the cost of the energy used to run a specific workload, but our main interest is the maximization of the aggregate throughput of the datacenter.
