A wide variety of application are possible with proximity sensors. This paper consolidates the research trends through a bibliometric analysis of research on proximity sensors. The key authors, regions and research organisations were focused on this review. The top authors were Suzuki Y. and Cattuto C and Sungkyunkwan University was the most influential research organisation. The leading country was United States of America. The future agenda for research was recommended in this paper.
