Linear Resonant Actuators (LRA), which are commonly used for smartphones and game controllers, can stimulate high-frequency vibrations, but it is difficult to present low-frequency ones. We found that a single sinusoidal waveform signal in voice coil actuators, which is higher frequency than the bass signal, can represent a low-frequency-like sensation. This paper investigates this phenomenon and verifies whether it can be used as a low-frequency vibration alternative representation method. The experiment result shows that this method can present the low-frequency sensation perceived by the low-frequency vibration presentation of 10 Hz and 20 Hz by using the alternative stimulus with the frequency range of 60 Hz to 100 Hz, which is relatively high frequency.
