Nowadays, programmers are one of the most desirable professions in the labor market, and hiring the most skilled programmers is crucial for programming teams. Moreover, the costs of recruiting and training incompetent employees are high. Due to the constant need to recruit new programmers in companies, tools that support the recruitment process are desired by employers. The goal of this work is to support the recruitment process of programmers, involving automatic analysis of the source code submitted by the candidates. We focus on the identification of outstanding solutions to save the time, the recruitment team must spend on the assessment of the projects. We proposed a method that utilizes well known metrics to identify outstanding projects, probably delivered by promising candidates. In this work we discuss the results obtained for different sets of metrics as the requirements can be different for different positions. Obtained results justified that the proposed approach can be successfully applied in the recruitment process.
