Heated Escape: A Virtual Reality Serious Game on the Urgency of the Climate Crisis

Climate change is widely considered to be the most defining crisis of our time. To address the challenge, education and engagement are key factors to change the global response to climate change. Virtual Reality (VR) serious games can provide immersive experiences, which can also serve educational purposes. In this paper, we introduce Heated Escape, a novel VR escape room game that aims to educate players about the urgency of the climate crisis. Here, we present the general game concepts, including several puzzle games.
