Power Consumption Analysis with Independent Component Analysis

This article presents a method for analyzing a time series of electricity consumption using Independent Component Analysis (ICA). With this method, it is possible to automatically identify and extract factors influencing electricity consumption individually and study their relationships on the daily consumption curve using profiles computed in parallel using ICA. ICA splits this profile into a group of components without losing representativeness of the data, providing a deeper understanding of electricity consumption to facilitate modeling and forecasting.
