Computational model “herd of herbivores & flock of predators” in scope of global optimization problem

Abstract The article proposes a coevolutionary computational model “a herd of herbivores – a flock of predators”. The selfish behavior of individuals of a herd of herbivores being attacked by a pack of predators is modeled. Attractive operators of patterns of individual and collective behavior of agents, as well as mechanisms of population selection, are considered. The results of a series of experiments with the model “herd of herbivores – a flock of predators” for the problems of finding a global minimum in known test functions are presented, as well as a nonparametric proof of the statistical significance of the results obtained using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test.
