The BPSec Security Mechanism
Edward J. Birrane, Sarah Heiner, Ken McKeever · 2022
The BPSec security mechanism is implemented with three unique components: security operations, security contexts, and security blocks. These components have been design to both work together to carry cryptographic information and to support flexible policy and configuration approaches at Bundle Processing Agents (BPAs). This balance of deterministic behavior and flexible configuration is meant to keep the BPSec security mechanism functioning in the variety of environments in which BPv7 might be deployed. This chapter explores each of the components that comprise the BPSec mechanism, how this mechanism might be expanded upon in the future, and how this implementation satisfies the desirable properties of a bundle security solution.
