Exploring Optimization Algorithms

This chapter continues discussing the structure of the optimization framework created previously in Chapter 3 , with the main focus on future development. Here, the general concept of generating the sequence of suboptimal solutions is explored more broadly. It is done in the context of practical implementation of approaches with different solution mechanisms, namely gradient-based (line search and trust region) deterministic and (meta)heuristic (particle swarm optimization) methods.
