The global economy has shifted from a vendor-driven economy to a consumer-driven economy with the advancements in the technology. Organizations such as Uber, Airbnb, and Netflix have become global phenomena with the usage of technology in a short period of time. These Internet-based companies were able to achieve this much of a success due to the flexibility they had on their enterprise software systems that ran the show behind the curtain. Serving billions of customers a day globally required solid enterprise software systems that we have not seen before. The microservice architecture played a pivotal role in these organizations to become successful business corporations with the use of technology.
