Abstract – Using survey results from 872 parents of students in the 17 and under age range, this study aims to assess the level of parental knowledge of cyber security in order to protect their children. Using statistical software called SPSS, a quantitative data analysis was carried out and the results were interpreted based on the distribution of locations. Descriptive data and generic respondent profile were combined as part of the analytical process. Any research findings would advise a greater focus on the Cyber Parenting Model to identify the elements that influence internet safety at home. Parents understanding of cyber security would increase with early exposure to parental awareness.
