Standardization Trends in CNN-Based In-Loop Filtering

Inspired by the recent success of convolutional neural networks (CNNs) in image restoration and artifact removal, CNN-based in-loop filters are actively developed in video compression standardization. This paper presents standardization trends of video coding, especially focusing on the techniques presented in the latest JVET-AA standard meeting.
