A Proposal of Method of Finding Appropriate idleSlope Values Over In-Vehicle Ethernet With CBS

This paper proposes a new method of calculating the most appropriate value for idleSlope in CBS(Credit-Based Shaper), which is one of QoS controls defined in IEEE 802.1TSN(Time-Sensitive Networking) standard, for in-vehicle networks; it utilizes the Simplex method, which is one of the numerical optimization methods. By using the proposed method, the authors obtain the most appropriate values for idleSlope by experiments with simulation. From the experimental results, the authors show that the proposed method provides optimal idleSlope values and then confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method.
