Barriers to the Adoption of Blockchain Technology in Indian Public Distribution System

The public distribution system (PDS) of India is the world’s largest distribution network. To meet the future demand, the PDS needs the adoption of latest technological advancements. This chapter studies the impediments in Blockchain adoption to Indian PDS with the help of industry experts’ opinion. The prioritization of identified barriers in this chapter, which was done using a Best worst Method (BWM) technique, will be useful for stakeholders and government authorities to take necessary actions according to the weight of each barrier. This chapter helps us to understand how to deal with the challenges on Blockchain implementation. This chapter suggests designing a proper system with adequate governance to promote the Blockchain adoption design for the smooth working of the system.
