Cyber crime fraud: Malaysian perspective

Industrial Revolution 4.0 and its technological diffusion progress is expected to grow exponentially in technical change and socioeconomic impact. This paper explains the effects of Industrial Revolution 4.0 on cybercrime fraud. Cybercrime is a criminal and unethical activity using internet facilities such as virus infections, identity theft, hacking, and others. It increases with the growing cyber space users despite various steps taken by the government to control and protect its cybercitizens. Thus, this paper provides an overview on cybercrime in Malaysia by discussing the common types that happen and several proactive actions that have been taken to battle cybercrime fraud. This paper also highlights cybercrime cases in Malaysia and discusses several influencing factors that can be considered for future study.
