With the advancement of technology, especially the new generation mobile networks (5G and 6G), and the Internet of Things (IoT), the number of mobile terminals requiring access to the frequency channel in order to communicate is increasing. However, as the radio spectrum is limited in frequency, its optimal management is of paramount importance. Cognitive radio technology is a promising solution for efficient spectrum use by allowing two users, one primary and one secondary, to share the same frequency channel without disrupting communication. By combining it with artificial intelligence (AI) techniques, the results obtained could be even more convincing. This paper presents a research work on spectrum management in cognitive radio networks using fuzzy logic. Indeed, we have used fuzzy logic as a decision support system to propose a solution that will reduce interference and the number of channel switches, while maintaining a good Quality of Service (QoS). The obtained scheme performances are realized using the MatLab simulator and aim at optimizing the results of the research work of Ali et al. in [1] from which we have been inspired.
