Schema Emergence in Collaborative Design

In this paper, we report on work in which media environments are developed to support schema emergence in collaborative design. We present a conceptual framework to support the cognitive phenomena of emergence in CAAD environment. First, we introduce and present a cognitive conception of schema emergence in design. We then discuss our computational model of schema emergence. Based upon this model we propose a conceptual framework to support emergence in collaborative design. Finally, the potential of the present implementation and the computational tools which support the approach are discussed .
