In this work, Fuzzy Logic (FL) based channel decision method for Cognitive Radio (CR) users is designed, and modeled. CR Network is a new wireless technology that aims to make use of unused parts of the spectrum by unlicensed users without causing any interference to primary users and can change its characteristics dynamically. Primary users access the channel at any time owing to their legal right to access to the channel. CR users are non-licensed users and can only access to the channel when it is not occupied by the primary users. In the developed network model, while primary users access the channel utilizing TDMA as a medium access control technique, CR users can access the channel by exploiting Slotted Aloha as a random access scheme when it is idle. In simulation model developed, AWGN channels are considered. The more realistic results are obtained by considering the parameter of noise and other effects in the simulated model.
