In the next ten years, we will witness a continuous evolution of technology much like we have observed over the last 50 years. We have come to expect it; it has become a part of our life. No one is surprised to find less expensive and more powerful PCs, larger television screens, higher resolution digital cameras, and so on. Hence, should it not be easy to predict what is going to happen, from a technological perspective? Yes and no: “Yes,” because, indeed, we know a lot about technology; “no,” because many factors must be considered that we know very little about.
