Some aspects of information services in industrial organizations

In this era of technological changes, information services are gaining importance in industrial organizations, since innovation efforts must to a large degree depend upon information resources.Some characteristics of information services in industrial organizations are; (1) adaptability to organizational objectives and needs, (2) emphasis on efficiency and rationality, (3) internally oriented attitude, (4) needs for a close contact with operational segments of the organization, and (5) exceeding specificity of information covered.A number of problems arising from such particular circumstances are discussed and some remedial actions are suggested in the present paper.
