This chapter is centered on the applied Knowledge Organization Systems (KOSs), thesauri and ontologies. Works related to the migration of the thesaural structure into an ontology conceptual framework will be described as well as those addressing the main research approaches followed for to reach the study objectives: (i) clustering (ii) keyphrases extraction and (iii) distributional semantic methodologies towards the automatization of the semantic relationships identification and the enhancement of the thesaural configuration to achieve a high coverage threshold.
