Extension of sentence length

This chapter first discusses the fact that sentences in Western languages tend to be longer than those in Chinese. As a result, due to the influence of Western languages, long sentences are often observed in modern Europeanized Chinese, with more sentence forms and predicate forms as secondaries or tertiaries being seen.
