Voicing Values in an Adversarial Environment

Chapter 4 introduces the Giving Voice to Values (“GVV”) initiative in the context of the attorney as an advocate. It examines how GVV can be successfully implemented to ensure effective advocacy. This Chapter analyzes and defines the core values of advocates including honesty, integrity, zealousness, respect, and responsibility while incorporating concepts from Aristotelian virtue ethics and common practices within the legal field.
