GNOME Applications

Sufyan bin Uzayr · 2022

This chapter discusses the GNOME application and how it works, installed in our Ubuntu system, user interface guide, feature, and more. GNOME is a desktop environment – a graphical user interface that runs on top of a computer operating system composed entirely of free software. GNOME&s;s default app for viewing images is Image Viewer and Eye of GNOME. A file manager in the sidebar lets us browse our machine without leaving the window. The app adheres to all of the standard GNOME app conventions, like header bar, single app menu, etc. It also integrates with GNOME Online Accounts to sync our tasks with a couple of online services. Joplin is an open-source and free note-taking application bundled with many features. Joplin is compelling and can handle the organization and management of notes categorized into multiple notebooks.
