It works on UNIX-based platforms, Windows and macOS, where GTK is released under the GNU Library General Public License terms, that allow other for licensing of client applications. GTK is a free and open-source software project. A GUI designer is a GUI builder, a software development tool that simplifies the creation of GUIs by allowing the designer to arrange graphical control elements using a drag-and-drop WYSIWYG editor. The GLib Object System is a free software library providing a portable object system and transparent cross-language interoperability.
