Multipath routing is a routing technique that uses multiple paths simultaneously to replace an existing path in the network. The concept of multipath routing is generally thought of as managing and using multiple available paths concurrently to transmit data streams in order to improve performance or fault tolerance, increase bandwidth, and improve security. Software defined networks (SDN) are capable of collecting network parameters in real time as well as providing centralized management by the controller, thereby enabling convenient implementation of multipath routing techniques and effective. The purpose of the work is to study and analyze multipath routing processes in software defined networks based on firefly algorithm (FA). Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has solved the problem well, increased throughput, reduced packet loss and improved network reliability.
