ANALISIS WACANA KRITIS PADA PEMBERITAAN KASUS PAPA MINTA SAHAM DI METRO TV

The aim of the study is to describe the use of language, text discourse, and socio-cultural aspect to the reporting case of Papa Minta Saham on Metro TV. The method was conducted in this study is descriptive which describe the status of phenomena to the object researched. The type of the study is qualitative research because the data were researched in the form of news which has been transcribed. Data collection techniques in this study used observation and documentation. Data analysis technique used in this study is based on the theory of AWK Fairclough with three stages, namely the analysis of the text (description), interpretation (the analysis of discourse practice), and explanations (analysis of socio-cultural practices). From the data analysis, it can be concluded. First, the news text was used by Metro TV tend to argumentation and descriptive which explain the reporting to the viewer about the case Papa Minta Saham. For example, the mention of case from the former chairman of House Representatives (DPR) Setya Novato, Metro TV frequently used the term Papa Minta Saham or “Pencatutan”. Second, the discourse of Metro TV tends to lift the news about the offense which was committed by the former chairman of House Representatives (DPR) Setya Novato. The news view of Metro TV tends to be political which means the owner of the station is more dominant than impartial news. Third, the ideology of Metro TV is the negative imaging by cornering the former chairman of House Representatives (DPR) Setya Novato. So, the public judge negatively the action of Setya Novanto.
