A Review on Blockchain-Based Device Authentication Schemes for IoT
G. Megala, S. Prabu, P. Swarnalatha · 2022
At present, extensive implementation of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies is resulting in smarter devices with rapid growth and widespread application. On the other hand, it has security concerns that have been prominently increasing. Device and message validation in addition to verification using authentic mechanism is crucial among the distributed nodes in the network to prevent access by unauthorized devices, among other security issues such as data privacy, cyberattacks, and so on. Many IoT settings are vulnerable to node or device failure. To prevent single data node failure and data tampering, Blockchain technology could be used to archive the distribution of attributes. A generalized Blockchain-based scheme has been explored that focuses on authentication and key management mechanisms using public-key cryptographic algorithm. An exhaustive analysis of integrating Blockchain with IoT authentication is reviewed to improve Blockchain-based IoT applications and highlighting its effects in conventional distributed cloud.
