An Empirical Investigation of a Fault Tolerant Containerized Application Deployment
Sankalp Singh Bisht, Parmeet Kaur · 2022
Container-based deployment of applications is rapidly becoming popular since containers are lightweight, quickly deployable and allow scalability through efficient resource utilization. This paper presents a fault-tolerant architecture for a fail-safe and cost-effective containerized deployment of an application. Various modules of the application are deployed in separate containers and replicas of the critical containers are maintained for failure recovery. The multi-container architecture is compared to a multi-threaded, single container deployment. It is observed that the multi-container application outperforms the single container application in terms of cost and time of execution.
