BIAS AND DISCRIMINATION

Minesh Tanna · Edward Elgar Publishing eBooks · 2022

Chapter 22 relating to Bias and Discrimination says that AI is about people. Again the subject of AI's relationship with hard law (in this case the UK Equality Act) and soft law is discussed. The chapter notes that AI cannot be unpacked from ethics and gives good examples of rules layering on each other, again highlighting a theme of the book. It considers the prospect of new rules and how they would interrelate with existing ones. It also looks at the difficult question of enforcement of rules relating to AI. Finally, the chapter poses questions for society about how AI should be a force for good.
