With the advancement of technologies, the amount of data shared each day keeps increasing. Thus, it becomes imperative to protect the contents of these data from any external influence. This is where the importance of Cryptography comes in. Cryptography is a process of protecting data by transforming it into a secure format, such that it can only be accessed by the sender and the recipient. The process of cryptography utilises a set of encryption algorithms to serve its purpose. Although it is one of the most secure ways of encrypting data, many such algorithms are now breakable. Cryptography has been in practice since ancient Rome, where ciphers like the Caesar Cipher were used to encrypt texts. Due to the simple nature of the classical ciphers, they are now considered weak and vulnerable to outside attacks. This paper sheds light on a new encryption technique, using two classical ciphers- The Vigenère Cipher and the Polybius Cipher, in a more modified and secure form.
