The exponential growth in wireless devices and throughputs has created a scarcity in available spectrum. To mitigate this, many regulatory bodies are today opening up previously reserved spectrum for unlicensed access. Cooperation between networks is a priority for minimizing the risks of unacceptable interference to primary users of these bands. In this work, we present a novel way for nearby IEEE 802.11 Access Points to communicate with each other via a low-rate cooperation channel. Reserved spectrum, in the form of 802.11 frames for cooperation related data, is not needed. This can potentially enhance the efficiency of the wireless network.
