Video and Audio Transmission Quality Enhancement over CCN by means of Access Timing and Media Synchronization Control

Toshiro Nunome · 2022 International Symposium on Networks, Computers and Communications (ISNCC) · 2022

In this paper, we consider the case in which multiple consumers (clients) access the same content at the same time on ICN/CCN (Information/Content-Centric Network). A major characteristic of ICN/CCN is the existence of content stores (caches) in the network. When a consumer intentionally delays the access timing from the other consumers, it can exploit the cached data in the content store. In addition to the cached data, it can request data that is not available at the content stores; it may have the same effect as the retransmission control. This paper evaluates the effect of the access timing of multiple consumers and the media synchronization control on the output quality of audio and video transmission over CCN through an experiment.
