Tidal events are the process of periodic rising and falling of sea water caused by differences in gravity from changing positions between the sun and the moon relative to a point on the earth's surface. Tidal phenomena are important to study in order to support human life, such as in terms of transportation and disaster mitigation. In this study, the aim of this research is to create a tidal monitoring tool based on the Internet of Things (IoT) using NodeMCU ESP8266 and HC-SR04 as sensors measuring water levels. This tool is connected to the ThingSpeak web as an IoT platform with an open API that is useful as a database server so that it can be accessed in real time. In addition, the measurement data is also stored on a micro SD card so that the data can be accessed offline. From this research, it is concluded that the tide monitoring tool can work well with an average error of 1.263%
