User Interface for the Creation of Smart Home Automation Rules

Smart home solutions offer users the possibility to remotely monitor and control their households. One of the important features of modern smart home systems is the possibility for users to set automation rules. Smart home rules represent user-defined behaviors of the smart home system which are designed to provide a user-friendly home automation setup for various use-cases. Rules allow users to define triggers and action sets. Triggers define conditions under which the rule is activated, and action sets define which actuators, such as devices or smarts, will be utilized and how once the trigger action conditions are fulfilled. This paper presents one possible implementation of the user interface for the creation of smart home rules.
