Approaches Analysis to Determining the Characteristics of the Load on the Disk Subsystem Created by User Applications

The object of the research is distributed software-defined storage systems. It is important for improving the performance of storage systems, which is relevant in modern conditions. The study of the load on the subsystems of the storage system is one of the directions used to improve the performance of such systems. In this article the applications of corporate systems in terms of the load they create on the disk subsystem are classified. The mechanisms of applications work with the disk subsystem are determined, as well as the features of them. Also, load testing of both the applications work and synthetic tests was carried out in order to confirm the assumptions made about the nature of the load they create. Conclusions are drawn, including on the prospects for further research
