Kokkos Kernels has seen multiple large improvements since 2020 in terms of new algorithms, hardware support and vendors optimized library support. Algorithmic work • New distance 2 coloring and associated maximum independent set • Coarsening algorithm using above MIS-2 (important multigrid kernel) • Improvements in interface and performance of batched GEMM Hardware support • HIP backend for AMD hardware support, will be in next released • Ongoing work on OpenMP Target support for NVIDIA, AMD and Intel hardware Vendor library support • ARMPL now supported • Ongoing work on rocBLAS and rocSPARSE support A new software paper describing the design and capabilities of Kokkos Kernels is available arXiv:2103.11991 and can be used to cite the project.
