One of the major factors which influence the development of automotive electronics technology is the software codes. This presents a lot of difficulties for vehicle electronic control unit firmware upgraded with a massive volume of program codes. If specific automakers are expected to complete any upgrade process, it would be a laborious and time-consuming task. In order to solve this problem, a bootloader concept provides more efficient way. A bootloader software is designed to simplify the flash reprogramming phase and to manage the firmware upgrade. The main aim of this chapter is to design a bootloader software for ADAS system and also to discuss the security challenges faced during the update of software and applications in the ADAS systems.
