Advanced System Requirements for Automotive Automation

Mr.Dasari Surya Manohar, H. Suneeta, S. Harlapur · 2022

The automotive industry is more influenced by the requirements of engineering in both the phase of software development lifecycle and a subdomain of software engineering. It plays a significant role during the communication and organization structure of an automotive system. In general, “requirements” are defined because of the description of the functionality of software under design and its properties (functional and nonfunctional requirements). Requirements are often perceived as textual documentation. In automotive software engineering, the requirements are in many different forms—including the problem statement to its completely executable model with appropriate safety measures. In this chapter, we overview the notion of a requirement generally and describe the categories of requirements used when designing automotive software systems by emphasizing on identification of problems or challenges faced in automotive requirement engineering with reference to communication and organization structure. It&s;s difficult but increasingly important to determine communication channels outside the fixed organization structure.
