Upload Your Code Over The Air (OTA)

The process of uploading code without using a cable is known as Over The Air (OTA) code upload. The code can be uploaded using Bluetooth protocol or WiFi protocol or any other wireless protocol. In the case of NodeMCU, it has an onboard WiFi chip. A bootloader is nothing but a program that gets loaded when a microcontroller is booted. Without a bootloader, there’ll be no program to run after the bare microcontroller is powered. To burn a new program into the flash memory, you need to burn it through a special programming interface on the bare microcontroller using specialized equipment. The OTA code upload using WiFi is much more advanced than the OTA code upload using Bluetooth. It provides more customization and advanced security features. Unlike the OTA code upload using Bluetooth, it can upload code OTA to any module in the WiFi network and is not restricted to 10 m range.
