In this article, we designed AODV Route Establishment and Maintenance (AREM) architecture using the Event Condition Action (ECA) scheme to make intelligent routing decisions at runtime. In conventional routing, whenever a node triggers events (for instance, link failure, node disappearance, etc.) source node nullifies the route and provokes the route investigation process again. However, in our proposed architecture, we modified the control packet by incorporating metrics such as bandwidth, processor speed, buffer capacity, and battery power of the node to avoid reinitiation of the route discovery process and select an optimal path from where a route is broken. The proposed architecture discovers the shortest route based on Resourceful Mobile Nodes (RMN) that is an added advantage for rerouting the packets in a critical routing condition and making an intelligent routing decision at runtime. We developed mathematical modeling using the M/M/1 queuing theory concept to investigate intelligent routing decisions in the ubiquitous network. Ultimately, dynamic routing decisions are focused on the approximate time needed for the local memory portion of each mobile node to process ECA rules and the time required for processing ECA rules for the ubiquitous network aspect.
