Data in form of images is available everywhere in abundance. These images may always not be seeming to give all the relevant information from the naked eye. Many techniques have developed over time, to improve the quality of images substantially. The results have been hopeful and visually appealing. This paper aims to review the neural network techniques used in image processing to improve the visual quality of the image. The study gives an insight about the existing neural network architectures available especially the GANs architecture, and various performance metrics involved with respect to image quality. This work also discusses the probable future work in the area of image enhancement using Neural Networks and GANs.
