The Confabulating LBI
Douglas Robinson · 2022
This chapter introduces the Left-Brain Interpreter as the “confabulator” that Michael S. Gazzaniga first discovered in split-brain patients and began to study in neurotypicals as well. The ideas for priming research in this chapter include primes for the confabulatory “overtranslation” of humor and the methodological reductivism typical of translational priming research that begins and ends with the assumption that translation is only ever primed by language.
