The development of semi-automated ingot teeming system1 is based on the increased demand for and development of special dedicated material handling equipment for casting shops already in the early 1970’s. INTECO and its installed the first ingot teeming systems in many special steelplants such as SKF, British Steel, Böhler, IASCo etc. These systems were developed in order to: Increase the production capacity of teeming bays of limited sizeRelieve the casting crane from mould and ingot handlingImprove quality control and handling of moulds and ingots
