The demand for increased functionality, enhanced computing power with fewer chips, the number of cores are increasing in the Embedded Processors. The fast pace of progress in technological trends has a significant impact on the temperature and power consumption of Embedded multicore processors, which may further affect the system's performance. In this paper, we present the methods to capture the processor temperature along with other attributes. The power consumption model in a multicore processor is also presented. The various thermal issues in multicore processors different techniques to manage power consumption and temperature in Embedded processors are discussed in the paper. Some platforms available for single-core and multicore processors to study temperature and power consumption are also mentioned. For the processor not having the dynamic range of current and the static operating voltage, designing a task scheduler combined with DVFS and/or DPM is impossible.
