Temperature Dependent Resistors in AC Networks

Giorgio Gambirasio, Denise Consonni · 2022

In a previous work, temperature dependent electrical resistors (TDRs) have been defined and modelled as resistors whose resistance linearly depends on temperature. Their behavior was also studied when a network containing TDRs is supplied by a DC voltage source. Such a network results nonlinear. When the network is supplied by one or more AC sources, these resistors behave in a different and more complicated way than with DC sources. A thorough study of the AC case is the object of the present work. As a result, plots of temperatures and resistances are shown in transient and steady state performance to illustrate the effects of TDRs on AC networks.
